I AM IN LOVE

Hi peeps! I know. I know. I have been MIA. I am SORRY! Quit torturing me! hahaha. I have to say that blogging is a lot harder then I thought! I was really stressed out about going so long w/o writing, BUT you know what they say? If you fall off the horse you gotta get right back on and start riding! So I am back and riding again! I cant say that I wont fall off again, but I am back in the saddle today damn it!

So I havent talked about our wedding ceremony/reception/fiesta venue very much yet. But I have to say that I AM IN LOVE with this place! Like literally. During the ceremony I might be reciting my vows to the walls. JK! I am in love with BK too. (xoxoxo) I talked to the owner of the space today and he told me that a lot a lot a lot a lot of people have requested our date which makes me even more obsessed! Sooo I decided to google it today (for the umpteenth time) to see if there were any new pics posted recently and I saw THIS pic! Now you cant really see what the place looks like but HOW COOL is that BAR sign?!??!?!?! I seriously want it at my *cough* OUR (xoxo) wedding! Do you think our parents will go for it?!?! What do you guys think? Not all at once please!!!!!

B.O.A.R.D.

No, not bored (well maybe a little)-BOARD! As in inspriation board. I have mentioned them here and there on this little blog, but I havent shared any of my masterpieces with the masses yet (well unless all my friends and family count as the masses....) I am currently working on about 3 boards and have only finished 1. I should probably concentrate on just one project instead of 3, but whoever said that I make the right decisions?!? So w/o further ado I present to you my first inspiration board ever!!!!

I was SO proud of myself when I put this snazzy piece together, but now looking back I realized that not everything quite fits. Like I dont think we will be having bright pink ice cream cones, but dont they look super cute?!? and also the cookie table doesnt match the color scheme AT ALL, BUT I needed to add it so I wouldnt forget my idea for a Pittsburgh cookie table that has a bit of a "twist" to it. I also added A LOT of hangy things.......and drinks.....but you know what? Its a little scattered. Just like me. So i like it!

'SCOPE it Out!

For about 3 or so years my friend Wendy has sent me my daily horoscope. This started when I was still in Los Angeles and we were working together at Oliver Peoples. When I moved we transfered emails and when I started my new job we transfered emails again! Everyday I look forward to getting the email from her and everyday I read mine and BK's and then I forward it to him. So I am sitting at work today and dont really want to be surfing the net so I started reading emails from the day BK proposed to see what if there were any hints of what was to come. Thats when I came across Wendys daily horoscope!!!! Mine kind of sucks, but BK's is kind of funny!!! I am Aries and he is Scorpio:

Horoscopes by Holiday for December 10
2009

ARIES (March 21-April 19). Some shrink from danger, others seek it, and still others meet it when they must, knowing it to be part of their own journey upward. You'll be in the lattermost category today.

SCORPIO (Oct. 24-Nov. 21).
Risk doesn't bother you, as long as it's calculated. Take the time to figure out the odds. Ask around. Gather as much information as you can before you decide whether it's wise to make a move.

Do you think he made a wise move? *hahahaha HAHAHAHA hahahaaha AHHHHAHAHA

*that is my evil laugh

WHIMSICAL

Lets all say it together.......Whimsical. Doesnt it just come out of your mouth so freely and with such ease and grace? Whhhhimsical. (thats how I say it in my head). Why am I loving this word you ask? Well let me tell you. I have been trying to think of the perfect adjective to describe how I am picturing the wedding. Originally (and up until yesterday when I discovered the "w" word) I kept saying "dreamy". However everytime I said dreamy I would picture this:

and while Danny Zuko might be dreamy, he is not exactly what I want the theme of my wedding to be based on. SO when I was on StyleMePretty.com yesterday and they said whhhhhimsical was the word of the day I was struck with a lightning bolt of excitement.

"This is IT!" I thought to myself

"THIS is my wedding adjective!"

I went on with my day floating on clouds of whimsical flowers and whimsical hair and whimsical dresses. I came in to work today and was SO excited to put together a whimsical (sorry for the overuse but this is really how I was thinking!) wedding inspiration board. (side note: inspiration boards are becoming somewhat of an addiction. I am doing one for EVERYTHING. But thats for another post). I couldnt wait to look up the pictures and put everything together.

"Its going to be beautiful!" i thought to myself

So I googled "whimsical pictures" and this is what I got:

Now I dont know what you guys see, but I see a naked fat person tip toeing, a frog in a bath tub, and dancing furniture. So unless everyone at my wedding is tripping I dont think this "whimsical" thing is going to work.

I mean who doesnt LOVE Danny Zuko?????

DJ not VJ

This post really has nothing to do with VJs (the video jockey!), but when I was younger I thought the MTV VJs were the coolest people in the whole world. They were to me what the ninja turtles were to boys (any maybe to me when I was way younger). I didnt even watch the videos on MTV! I would just watch the Spring Break shows or other things that I cant remember now. hahaha. Remember when they did the hunt for the new VJ and it was down to that crazy haired stoner Jesse and that heavier guy that really knew everything about music and Jesse won?!!? hahahaha. Now THAT was some good programming!!!!! Anyways, I was thinking the other day about how they are extinct now and thats why I am on this rant, but like I said this post doesnt really have anything to do with VJs......

i used to think he was hot........

What it IS dealing with is DJs (the disk jockey!) If you dont know where I am headed with this then I might be suspicious that you have been hanging out with Jesse recently! So yes, my fellowers we have hired our Wedding DJ!!!!!!!!

*Ahhhhh! And the crowd goes wild!!!!!!!!!!*

In all seriousness though we for real got the coolest ever DJ. His name is DJ Gaza (google!) and he ROCKS! I originally wanted to have a live band (BK's cousin killed us this past summer and had an amazeballs wedding w/ an AWESOME live band and now we have to somehow live up to this event of the century!) but once we realized how much these things cost we succumbed to the idea of a DJ. I wasnt too happy at first, but once our WP (wedding planner, duh!) told us about this guy and we (I) started researching him I got more and more and more excited. He isnt your typical wedding DJ and he wont be that crazy MC that gets too involved w/ the crowd, but I have heard that he did a wedding with the Catholic Irish and the Protestant Irish and by the end of the night they were doing the jig........TOGETHER!!!!!!! He also recently DJ'd the wedding of Fred Armisen (Sat Night Live Obama) and Elizabeth Moss (Mad Men) and who doesnt want to tell everyone that your DJ disk jockied for the fake Obama and a chick from Mad Men?!?!? HELLO?????

Anyways, I am just super excited and really can not wait. I mean the countdown IS on! 14 months and 2 weeks! Getting close!!!!

Shape up or Ship Out!

There are a quadrillion things I want to blog about right now, but I am being so undecisive that it is driving me nuts. Like should I talk to you about how winter is starting to make me freak, or tell you about the AMAZE venue we just booked and show you pictures (Totally will!), or talk about how I am going to make my body look like the blonde from the new (but not improved or even cool!) 90210 who is on the cover of Shape magazine this month, or how all I want to do in life right now is go tanning bc I am so sick of being see through but I know its so bad for you and I have given it up but that doesnt mean I dont want to do it? I guess thats what happens when you dont blog for a while. I better check myself before I wreck myself!

Work it!

Rules are MEANT to be BROKEN!

So I know that you have all been dying of anticipation to hear who the Kleenex Box Shuffle chose for the first spotlight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well guess what?!?! I have decided that I am going to throw a wrench into this game I am playing and change it up a bit. I know, I know. Thats shady and I should follow my original choice, BUT let me explain before everyone lights their torches! Yesterday I received the amazing news that my sister in law is pregnant with another little girl!!! I am beyond excited and really can not wait to meet this little angel (she'll take that after me) that she is carrying! I have already been lucky enough to have the most adorable niece ever and now I will have another one. Because of this I have decided to spotlight my most beautiful sister in law. MICHELLE SENNEWAY COME ON DOWN!!!!!!!!!!!

Michelle and I met when she started dating my brother Billy in college. Bill never really brought anyone home for us to meet, so I had a sneaking suspicion that this was serious. I was the only girl in the family at the time, so I was a little territorial at first, but since Michelle is probably one of the coolest girls I had ever met we ended up bonding pretty fast. I would come home after a night out and barge into the basement (bill's love shack) to bum ciggies (jk mom!) off of them and then end up talking their ears off. Soon after they were married we took a Senneway trip to NYC (sans Bill-weirdo!) and I think that is where I realized that Michelle would end up becoming not just a SIL, but a best friend as well. We have so much fun together and we laugh ALL of the time. I am talking tears out of eyes , stomach hurts, "ouch my cheeks", "I cant breathe" laughter. I can also confide in her my deepest darkest secrets and tell her everything and anything. I am never scared that she is going to judge me or make me feel stupid. She listens and offers the blunt truth that I love. I have made some amazing best friends through out my life, but our relationship intertwines family and friendship and that is a bond you just cant beat! I am so thankful that she is in my life and I am SO happy that I get to share this experience with her. We are going to rock it and love it and sing and dance and laugh! I love you Michelle!!!!!!!!!!! xoxoxo

NYC 2004! We had such an amazing time!!!

NYC 2009!!! We had such an even MORE amazing time!!!
